I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years. I have an extensive background in yoga philosophy and music. I love to sing!
I fell in love with the practice of Hatha Yoga as a teenager and was inspired to take every possible class that I could, with as many teachers as I could. I was lucky enough to train with world-renown teachers from around the world. Being a lifelong athlete, I found yoga to compliment my athletic skills giving me a higher consciousness of my body.
I did my 200-hour certification through Triyoga London, one of the world’s leading teacher training programs. I also acquired a certification in Restorative Yoga, which serves as a beautiful compliment to any more vigorous yoga practice.
I believe that yoga is not just about being stretchy. It’s about developing strength throughout the body, by sustaining poses and challenging the mind to go beyond its limitations—especially the belief that a pose is impossible.
My classes aim to help students connect with their bodies through movement and breath, while empowering them to deepen their understanding of the way their bodies move in space. I believe that the technicality of a pose is important for ensuring an optimal practice that is safe and intelligent, and which can yield internal knowledge. I like to say that “If you use yoga to understand all the aches and pains in your body from both a physical and emotional level, you can gain understanding of your overall wellbeing.”
